Welcome to The Brigg, which is located in the market town of South Normanton. Approximately 180 children attend our school and we have 6 classes, 2 in each year group.
Our school is built upon our vision of 'Working together, growing together, always trying our best'. We passionately believe that, when children enjoy school, they will achieve well and develop a life-long love of learning. We therefore provide an exciting and creative curriculum where children have a real sense of fun and enjoyment in their learning.
We have established a learning challenge curriculum with inspiring multi-cultural themes for all age groups throughout the year, using local events, visits and visitors. Through these links, our children are developing a real sense of their place in the world and a good understanding of cultural differences.
Our school values reading very highly and we believe that children should 'Get reading, keep reading and change the world'. We are a Read Write Inc school and we are making extremely good progress with the children's English skills. Find out more at http://www.ruthmiskin.com/en/
Parents are actively encouraged to be involved in the life of our school. We are so excited to be able to welcome parents and carers back into school again with termly events such as our popular Phonics Party, Number Day, celebration assemblies and stay and play sessions. We also love to communicate with parents regualrly using technology such as Class Dojo and Tapestry. We strongly believe that, by working together with parents, we can provide the best possible education for the children.
We hope that our website gives you a flavour of our happy, industrious school. Please take a look at our virtual tour under the New Starters section for more details. We are also happy to take you on a real tour to meet everyone at The Brigg, just contact us anytime!
Take care and keep safe.
