Keeping Children Safe
The Brigg Infant School fully recognises its responsibilities for child protection and safeguarding and sees this aspect as the most important part of our work with children and their families. It is part of all aspects of our curriculum and life at school.
Our designated person to contact regarding any issue relating to Safeguarding and Children In Care is Mrs A Spencer, Headteacher. In her absence, contact Miss C Brooks, Acting Deputy Head. Email us about child protection matters on email@example.com
Our governor for safeguarding is Ms S Johnston.
We are very proud of the following findings by OFSTED in July 2019...
"There is a strong safeguarding culture that permeates the school. Leaders are acutely aware of the issues facing vulnerable families.... Staff know pupils very well. ... Pupils are safe in school. Pupils say that they can speak to any adult about their concerns. Parents agree the school is a safe place for their children."
Early Help For Families
The Brigg are proud to work alongside Positive 4 Young People (P4YP) who provide early help for families in need of support. Kerrie Stevenson is our Family Support worker from P4YP and she works with children and parents, helping them with issues such as...
- Low self-esteem and mental health issues
- Poor attendance or poor health
- Friendship issues and difficult behaviour
- Relationship difficulties at home and housing issues
- Bereavement, separation or loss
