29th November 2021 Christmas Show; Shine Star Shine
Dear Parents and Carers
As you will know, the children in our Year 1 and 2 classes are performing their Christmas show at The Postmill Centre in South Normanton on Tuesday 7th December 2021 at 9.30 (approx).
The arrangements are as follows; Monday 6th December (rehearsal); after their lunch, the children in Fox, Squirrel, Deer and Badger class will walk with staff to The Postmill Centre to have a final rehearsal. Year 1 (Deer and Badger Classes) will walk back to school with staff and should be collected from school as usual please.
Year 2 (Fox and Squirrels) need to stay at The Postmill longer to practice. Please can parents /carers collect their Year 2 child from INSIDE the Postmill Centre, in The Carnfield Room between 3.00 and 3.15 please (these times should ease traffic problems). Any younger siblings at our school will wait safely with their teachers, until you collect them, if this causes a delay.
Any Year 2 child going to JPAC After School Club on 6th, will be taken to JPAC at Glebe by our staff for you. It would be very helpful if you could message the class teacher on Class Dojo if this will apply to your child (before 5th Dec please).
Any Year 2 children who attend Street Dance Club at our school will be taken back to school by our staff to join in and you will collect them at 4.30 as usual please.
Tuesday 7th December (the show); please drop off ALL Year 1 and 2 children between 8.40 and 9.10 INSIDE the Postmill Centre, in The Carnfield Room. PLEASE NOTE STAFF WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BRING YOUR CHILD FROM SCHOOL TO THE POSTMILL. Breakfast Club children in Year 1 or 2 will be collected from Glebe by Mrs Spencer at 8.20 to walk to the Postmill. After dropping off, you may then take a seat in the Carnfield Room and wait for the performance which begins at 9.30 approx.
COVID SAFETY; There will be enough seats for 1 (or 2) adults per family but no more please. We would prefer that the audience is as small as possible. We recommend that all adults sanitise hands on arrival and wear a face covering if possible please. Do not attend if you are ill on the day.
The show is approximately 30 minutes long. It is free but we will have a collection on the day to cover the costs of costumes and the performance license, if you would like to donate we would appreciate it.
Please do not video the performance or take group shots, to protect the children. We will make sure parents / carers can come to the front to take photos of their own child at the end. After the performance, the children will walk to school before lunch, with staff. If any parents would like to wait and walk down to school with us that would be appreciated (but not essential).
We hope that you enjoy our Christmas show and Merry Christmas to you all! Mrs Spencer.
