World Book Day 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Great news; World Book Day 2021 is going ahead on 4th March, to encourage children and parents to develop a lifelong love of reading.

Like all things, due to lockdown there will be a few differences this year.

Dress Up; Whether at home or at school, we would like to invite you to dress up as your favourite book character on the day.  Class teachers will invite you to a special zoom chat to share outfits and the will tell you their favourite childrens' story.

Teachers will be planning book related activities for the day and we will be asking parents to share their own favourite childhood stories with their own children please.

Keep it simple; we appreciate that it might be more difficult to find an outfit this year. So why not make your own outfit, or decorate a t shirt about the character or make a mask or hat?  There are lots of good ideas at https://www.madeformums.com/toddler-and-preschool/last-minute-easy-world-book-day-costumes/

Book Tokens; Each child will still receive a £1 book token, but this will be digital this year (more details to follow).  The tokens will also be available on Happy Meals at McDonalds.
