Staffing News

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to tell you about some changes to staffing for the new term.

Mrs Porter from Lowry Class shared some happy news with us this term, as she is expecting a baby in the new year.  Due to new Coronavirus restrictions, she is unable to work at school due to the increased risks to her and the baby. Mrs Porter is working off site and is still able to update Tapestry, plan lessons, read and reply to Class Dojo and so on. We wish her all the best with her final stages of pregnancy and look forward to hearing about the new arrival soon!

Mrs Porter will be covered by a full time teacher, Mrs Lisa Smith who is able to begin her post earlier than we expected, although not until 1 December.  In the meantime, Miss Gladwin is teaching the class full time, from our well trusted supply agency.  She is doing a great job and the children have responded very well to her. Thank you also to our full time Teaching Assistant Mrs Bev Smith for supporting the class so well.

In Picasso class, we welcome new teacher Mrs Katie McGurk who will be teaching the class on Mondays and Tuesdays, alongside Mrs Kate Smith who is now working Wednesdays to Fridays. Thank you also to our Teaching Assistant Mrs Cason for supporting Picasso class so well.

In Goldsworthy class, we welcome new teacher Mrs McGurk who will be teaching the class on Thursdays and Fridays, alongside Mrs Mackney on Mondays to Wednesdays.  Mrs Mackney is also in school on Thursdays, which is her Deputy Head release day. Thank you also to our super Teaching Assistants Mrs Birks, Mrs Harvey and Mrs Parker for supporting Goldsworthy class so well.

We are very pleased to let you know that the children from Mrs Sheppard's Rainbow Crew are now able to work in her class every morning of the week as a result. We are extremely pleased with their progress and delighted that this will now be possible every day.  Mrs Sheppard will be teaching Year 2 classes on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons so that the class teachers can run catch up programmes for children who need extra support. More details to follow.
