Joining An Academy
Dear all
For the next phase of our schools' development, we want to grow much stronger links with other schools to share best practice and broaden the range of what we can offer to pupils and their families. We want to choose a group of like-minded schools to join with, who will provide mutual support to help each other to improve year on year. With this in mind, the Governors have begun to look at finding a suitable "Multi Academy Trust" (MAT) to join of our choosing. MATs are groups of schools working together with a shared central team of educational services.
All Derbyshire schools will be considering joining a MAT in the near future as the County Council may not be able to support all schools as they do currently.
We are looking for a MAT which will allow us to maintain our unique, inclusive, child centred approach but can provide school improvement opportunities which can be very beneficial. We don't want to change the many good things we do but do want to keep developing, an important distinction. The Governors are looking at a number of Trusts at the moment and will provide an update when we are further along the process. Should we decide to join a MAT, there will be a full consultation with parents, carers and all involved with our school, as set out by the DFE guidance.
Any questions or concerns about this or any other matter, do not hesitate to contact Mrs Spencer on headteacher@brigg.derbyshire.sch.uk
Thank you
