Covid 19 Tracing Over the Holidays

Although we break up on Friday 18th Dec 2020, DFE guidelines say that schools must continue to provide contact tracing data to stop the spread of the COVID virus.

The guidelines state that any child (and member of staff) who develops symptoms and receives a positive COVID test between Friday 18th December and Thursday 24th December 2020, must be reported to school urgently.  If your child receives a positive test, please report this as soon as you can to Mrs Spencer by email only at headteacher@brigg.derbyshire.sch.uk.  This email will be monitored regularly during this period of time.

Please do not email other staff or phone the school as this will not be monitored.  Please do not use Class Dojo to report this matter.  Thank you.

If a positive case for a pupil or staff member is reported during this time, we will report to Public Health England (PHE).  We will inform all parents, staff and visitors as instructed by PHE and you may be asked to self isolate.

You may have also heard that from the 14 December 2020, the Chief Medical Officer has said that the period of isolation will reduce from 14 to 10 days following a positive test: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-chief-medical-officersstatement-on-the-self-isolation-period-11-december-2020

I sincerely hope that we do not have to contact you with such bad news, but if we all continue to be careful and follow the rules, we can be confident that we are doing all we can to keep our loved ones safe.

Thank you for all your ongoing support and kindness.

I wish you a merry Christmas and a much happier new year!

Mrs Spencer, Headteacher
